The method employed allows the mastering engineer to achieve maximum perceived "loudness" transparently without ever getting overshoots (Digital-overs) with minimum audible distortion. The characteristics of the final audio can quickly be adjusted to taste with only two rotary-dials. The drive / color dial component also allows the addition of analog saturation when "running hot", this can be disabled if not required.
Crysonic claims that what makes Spectra'phy's process unique is the "novel" approach used for its dynamic signal analysis. Internally Spectra'phy utilizes a special physics engine to accurately simulate multiple response signals to maximize the perceived signal volume and to also "brick wall" upper limit to peak set levels. Final response curve is computed on the analysis of multiple simulations each having different characteristics that are driven mainly by incoming transient signals concurrently. The idea behind the TDesign is to give the user direct control over the attack and sustain characteristics of natural sounds. Take a recording of an unremarkable drum kit and dial in some really hard-hitting attack or take a very percussive sound and soften the attack. You can also use the sustain control to work on the decay portion of sounds, and with drums you can tighten up the sound to give a fast, dry decay or you can make them ring as though you'd taken the dampers off the kit.
Unique to TDESIGN is the ability to shape the transient not only amplitude wise but also with a dynamically controlled 24 dB lowpass filter with resonance control. This gives you the opportunity to change the sound in a way which normally is only possible if you recreate it with a synthesizer.

In multi-track audio applications, side-chaining is a powerful technique for controlling effects in one track using audio from a different track. Stereo Imager D is a decorrelation-based Stereo Imager.

Common stereo imager (typically using M/S decomposition) plugins can not retain stereo information of source singal. These plugins sometimes emphasizes side component of input signals, however, such processing easily breaks tonal balance and stereo eld of input singals.

In contrast to others, A.O.M. Stereo Imager D uses on correlation-based decomposition. This algorithm decomposes L/R inputs into L’/C/R’. The correlated component of both channels is mapped to C, the decorrelated components are mapped to L’/R’. The L’ and R’ components have no correlation, it means a true stereo.
