The Rocket is a character audio compressor, singular in its extraordinary speed, responding in mere microseconds to variations in program level. Being in the order of several thousand times faster than most ordinary compressors, Stillwell Audio respectfully submit that The Rocket "kicks like a mf".
Violation of the laws of physics and digital signal processing remain beyond us at this time, and a single sample at 44.1kHz has a span of 22.6 microseconds. The Rocket's attack time can be below this level, for absolute certainty that even the very first sample understands that you are its master. Placed on the master bus, The Rocket will effortlessly tame transients almost in the manner of a brickwall limiter.
Discussions of Science and Art are played out within The Rocket 's 'Impetus' circuits, where warmth and aggression exist as DSP, able to take the delicate, musical gain reduction to the extremes of dirty, heavy and slamming rock'n'roll misbehaviour.

Acuma Labs Final Mix enables you to master your sessions within your VST
host, printing directly to hard disk or DAT without having to rely on
expensive mastering houses or outboard gear. Final Mix is your best choice
when it comes to a professional stereo mastering solution. Specifically
designed for use with VST host digital audio workstation software such as
Cubase and Sonar, Final Mix can dramatically elevate the quality of your
mixes and help you to create your own professional masters.
With an extensive palate of sonic tools, including 3 band dynamics
processing, six band (pre and post) parametric EQs, adjustable cross over
points and individual band key filtering, Final Mix lets you zero in on
exact frequencies to adjust or emphasize crucial elements of your mix.
Final Mix employs three individual dynamic compressors (low, mid and high)

Toontrack EzPlayer Pro
EZplayer® pro at a glance
EZplayer® pro is a multi track MIDI organizer, arranger and format conversion tool between mapping formats that allows you to gather all your MIDI clips in one browser. You can use EZplayer® pro to preview those MIDI clips and drag and drop them directly into your host. The multi track arranger in EZplayer® pro also makes it possible to arrange MIDI clips into fused sequences to either be saved back into the EZplayer® pro browser for later use or be dragged into your usual sequencer as part of a composition.
So what is EZplayer® pro?
EZplayer® pro is the much boosted version of Toontrack® Music's EZplayer® FREE. It is available as a separate product from Toontrack® Music and associated distributors but is also included as the MIDI drag and drop engine for Superior Drummer® 2.0. To learn more about Superior Drummer® 2.0 please visit the S2.0 product page.
How do I use EZplayer® pro?
You simply connect any track in EZplayer® pro to a track in your host pre-assigned to the sampler that you want to use as a sound source using the MIDI OUT function (check the manual found in the help menu of the EZplayer® pro interface for specific procedure in various programs).
Once attached to your sampler, it could not be easier to build your tracks, right there in our intuitive built-in arranger: use the EZplayer® pro's browser to audition your MIDI clips and arrange them on the timeline, on as few or as many tracks as is convenient or required.
But it does not stop there, using an intelligent cataloging system EZplayer® pro is also capable of isolating most percussive instruments from your MIDI files, allowing you to re-combine patterns from different grooves to form exciting new beats.
Used in conjunction with Toontrack solo and EZdrummer® or Superior Drummer®, the award winning samplers from Toontrack® Music, EZplayer® pro also becomes a stand alone workstation for creating MIDI beats independently from your regular sequencer.
Will EZplayer® pro work with any sampler?
EZplayer® pro is General MIDI compatible out of the box and will ofcourse drive any Toontrack® sampler with no further setup, but tracks in the EZplayer® pro arranger can also be connected to any other sampler instrument in your host software (to choose among the extensive 3rd party support list, see below), and thereby be used to audition and organize all your MIDI clips, regardless of where they came from.
EZplayer® pro's more specialized features focus on use with percussive samplers. As mentioned above EZplayer pro® is capable of translating MIDI files between different drum sampler. To do so simply select the appropriate mapping from the menu next to the relevant EZplayer® pro's track (or browser for audition purposes). Conversely, source material can be identified when incorporated into the browser so that any format can be translated into any other.
Supported sampler mappings at the time of writing are: dfh Superior (including Custom and Vintage), EZdrummer®, DFH® 1&2, Digidesign's Strike, Battery, BFD 1&2, Addictive Drums, Reason Drum Kits and of course any GM software or hardware sampler, percussive or not.
What else do I get with EZplayer® pro?
EZplayer® pro comes with a generous amount of percussive MIDI files to get you started. The files are played by Toontrack® artists David ”Fingers” Haynes and Per Mikaelsson (drummer of the Claustrophobic EZX®).
Can I use my existing MIDI libraries with EZplayer® pro?
Of course, just add your MIDI folders in the EZplayer® pro browser by using the Add Path function or drag them straight into the EZplayer® pro basic browser. Tell EZplayer® pro what mapping format the files are in. Instantaneously your MIDI files (complete with folder structure) will show up in the browser of EZplayer® pro ready to be auditioned, arranged on the timeline or dragged into your host.
Where can I get more MIDI files for EZplayer® pro?
Either purchase any of the Toontrack® EZdrummer® EZX® expansion packs and install on your computer*. The MIDI files included will show up in your EZplayer® pro browser automatically. You can also scroll to Content Delivery in the help menu in the EZplayer® FREE interface to find weblinks to third party content delivery sites.

What is it?
Did you ever wonder if the convention of imitating hardware
in software is the final word on friendly user interfaces?
Is it indisputably the most efficient, creative and
inspiring way of interacting with a software synth? We
asked ourselves these questions… and we created Synplant.
Synplant is a software synthesizer with a genetic approach
to sound creation. Instead of creating patches the
conventional way by turning dials and knobs, Synplant lets
you explore a world of organic sounds by planting seeds
that grow into synth patches. The purpose of this product
is to move focus away from the sometimes intricate and
difficult process of sound synthesis and instead let you
develop sounds by simply using your ears.
You will find that creating synth patches with Synplant
will be as easy as listening and deciding what you like and
then having the sounds evolve in the directions you desire.
Although Synplant is exceedingly easy to use, whatever you
do, do not let its relative simplicity fool you. Beneath
its straightforward and playful interface you will find a
versatile synthesizer of the utmost quality with lots of
character. Also, once you are ready to get your hands dirty
and dig deeper into the anatomy of Synplant you will have
the option to crack open your sound seeds and modify their
underlying genetic code.

Sample Modeling Mr Sax-T v1.0 DXi VSTi RTAS-DYNAMiCS
The Tenor Saxophone
Mr. Sax T. employs an entirely new technology, developed by Stefano Lucato when it became clear that all the previously applied approaches simply could not do. The technical name is Synchronous Wave Triggering. It uses samples as a base material, chromatically performed by a professional sax player over a very wide dynamic range, and recorded with state-of-the-art technology. The resulting timbre is therefore that of the real instrument. But the analogy with a sample based library ends here. The underlying, proprietary technology allows continuous interpolation among different vectors like time, dynamics, pitch and formants. Advanced real time processing techniques yield realistic legato/portamento, vibrato, ornamentations & trills with phase continuity, constant-formant pitchbends, subharmonics, growl and flutter tongue to be performed in real time.

Toxic Biohazard features a hybrid synthesis engine, combining the best of FM and Subtractive synthesis.
With the addition of a warm, analog-modeled filter and set of built-in effects, the
Toxic concept remains one of convenience, simplicity, and superb sound quality.
The FM technology
One of the 'warmest', crisp, and clear Frequency Modulation engines in the world, owes its sound to the
precise calculation of the digital signal. Due to high-resolution DSP processing, it produces sound with an
extremely low noise threshold; something that most FM engines cannot offer. The Toxic Biohazard sound
was built from the ground up, via Image Line's unique mathematical calculations and analog-modeling techniques.
Completely alias-free, and well tuned for all sampling rates, they produce a rich, "fat" sound all across the spectrum.
Due to the high quality of the anti-aliasing process, users will not encounter the shredding noise on high frequencies
that has plagued some FM synthesis implementations in the past. Furthermore, the oscillators are calculated at
extremely high speeds, keeping your CPU usage to a minimum. Toxic's low CPU consumption affords the user
plenty of room for external processing and running multiple instances. The oscillators also come equipped with
Maxx Claster's own powerful spectrum analysis technology. This allows the user to create his or her own
waveforms, via the simple process of loading a WAV or AIFF format sound file. All of these features make
the oscillators very flexible, and allow for the use of both synthetic and acoustic waveforms within Toxic III.
Each oscillator also comes with 32 built in 'classic' waveforms, each shown to be the most useful in FM synthesis.
Made to assure high quality and flexibility is built into the synthesizer its self, Toxic Biohazard aims to reduce the need
for external processing altogether. The effect modules are designed to give the user access to several types of effects,
from aggressive, tube-like distortion, to warm stereo delay, reverb, flanger, and phaser effects. With Image Line's tape
delay emulation, based on non-fixed delay buffer sizes, instead of the usual methods incorporated within digital delays,
the delay lines give you warm sound, with "true" feedback and modulation. Lastly, the signal chain features an analog-modeled,
parametric equalizer to further shape your sound. The EQ provides access to crisp, clear high-end definition, creamy
mid ranges and earth-shaking low-end frequencies. The Toxic Biohazard effect modules expands its palette of sound
to include everything from dark, atmospheric textures to razor sharp leads, fit to slice easily through any mix.
Maxx Claster's own analog-modeled, multi-mode filter is reminiscent of a certain silver box of old.Garnishing a
warm, resonant Low-Pass mode, a smooth Band-Pass setting, and a creamy High-Pass mode, Toxic Biohazard
gives a wealth of control over tone. The filter is further enhanced by modulation via a dedicated envelope
generator and low frequency oscillator, as well as responding to velocity information and keyboard tracking.
These features allow for extreme sound shaping, as well as subtle nuances attributed to dynamic playing.
Powerful, yet simple, the sequencer offers a total of 64 steps, which can be divided into two independent, 32 step modules
to allow double-polyphonic patterns. Using Image Line's "Smart Sequencer" technology, when a chord is played, the
module defines that chord, and tunes the pattern accordingly. The sequencer also allows for pure playback of the
programmed sequence from single notes. Simply holding one chord can virtually create an arrangement for you.

Cockos' REAPER is a lightweight, powerful DAW, that has none of the track or plugin limitations found in other DAWs. This release is of v.2.55, which was released yesterday. I use this DAW myself, and actually dumped Cubase and Sonar for this. It's faster, more versatile, takes up less memory, and is very intuitive. It especially excels at live performing, as it's low memory footprint allows for lower latency, and more CPU for plugins. But enough from me, give it a spin, it's at

Drumagog's advanced triggering engine makes drum replacing a breeze. It accurately tracks the incoming audio and replaces even the most detailed drum nuances with ease. In addition to the basic controls to adjust input, output, and triggering parameters, Drumagog features several controls on its advanced page for custom tuning of the overall triggering process. Drumagog 4.0 introduces a totally new, re-designed triggering engine for un-paralleled triggering accuracy. The following modes are available:
Simple Triggering Mode: This mode is recommended if minimizing CPU usage is a priority. It works well for all but the most difficult tracks.
Advanced Triggering Mode: The advanced triggering mode provides the best triggering performance Drumagog has to offer. It features a smart algorithm which minimizes false triggering and maximizes sensitivity. It's particularly useful on difficult tracks.
Live Triggering Mode: This zero-latency mode is designed for use in a live Drumagog setup. For example, when using Drumagog as an insert on the main console in a live concert performance, or using Drumagog as a "drum brain" for drum trigger pads. However, it doesn't offer the same triggering quality as the other modes, and is only recommended for use in situations that demand zero latency.
The Advanced and Live Triggering Modes are standard in the Pro and Platinum versions only.
Drumagog supports dynamic, random and positional multisamples for the ultimate in acoustic realism. Each instrument can contain several dynamic multisamples, representing distinct volume levels. Drumagog will automatically choose from one of these samples to match the incoming audio volume perfectly. Random multisamples are also supported, allowing Drumagog to randomly choose between two or more sets of samples of the same volume. Using random multisamples allows a level of realism previously unattainable with other samplers. In addition to dynamic and random samples, Drumagog also features positional multisamples, where different areas of a drum or cymbal are represented by different samples. All three of these sample types can be combined for a single sound resulting in a very complete representation of a drum or instrument. With Drumagog's advanced multisample support, even complex drum rolls sound realistic.
Drumagog includes a visual triggering feature that simplifies the adjustment of the triggering controls. A scrolling, real-time waveform display is shown, with the triggering controls (sensitivity, resolution) superimposed on top of the waveform. This provides a visual indication of exactly which incoming hits will trigger Drumagog. For example, the sensitivity control is represented as a horizontal line that can be moved up or down, while the audio waveform scrolls from right to left. As the incoming audio scrolls past, it's easy to see which audio impulses will trigger Drumagog and which won't. All the audio above the line will cause a trigger and the audio below it will be ignored. The incoming audio that scored a "hit" is displayed as a white dot, making it easy to see a history of which hits caused Drumagog to trigger.
BFD Triggering (only available in Drumagog Platinum)
If you own a copy of Fxpansion's BFD or BFD2, Drumagog has the ability to directly trigger BFD, without the need for midi or other complicated setups. This powerful feature enables you to harness the power of BFD directly from the Drumagog interface.
Stealth mode is a powerful feature that allows all the original audio to pass through unchanged until the trigger threshold is reached. This is especially useful in tracks that contain both a snare and a hi-hat on a single track. Drumagog will pass the hi-hat through, quickly crossfade into the replaced snare sample when the snare drum is heard, then crossfade back into the hi-hat again. The whole operation is so seamless that often it's hard to tell Drumagog's actually on.
Drumagog introduces a new feature called positional multisamples. Drums can now be multisampled at different stick positions. This allows the user to "dial in" the perfect stick hit position when replacing drums. For instance, if a part of the song calls for a bell sound from the ride cymbal, the user simply adjusts the position control to achieve the perfect stick position.
MIDI Input and Output (on supported hosts)
Drumagog's MIDI feature allows triggering of external drum machines and virtual instruments like EZ Drummer, Battery, Addicitive Drums, Halion, and GigaStudio. The midi input can allow you to use Drumagog as a "drum brain" (for triggering from live drum pads/triggers).
The MIDI features are standard in the Pro and Platinum versions only, and are available on supported hosts.
Advanced Sample Management
Drumagog's Samples page features a visual sample management scheme that simplifies importing and organizing of samples. Adding a sample is as simple as dragging and dropping it onto the sample box in the center of the page. Each multisample being used is represented as a colored rectangle within this sample box. During playback, the individual colored rectangles flash, indicating which multisample is being used for replacement. An "add from track" button allows the user to grab existing drums from the current audio track and import them into the sample box. Up to 48 multisamples are supported, and any combination of dynamic or random multisamples is possible (previous versions of Drumagog allowed only specific combinations of multisamples).
Drumagog automatically tracks the incoming drum hits and adjusts the volume of the samples it plays according to the volume of the original hits. Sometimes however, it's desirable to control the dynamics. Drumagog provides a dynamic tracking control that allows adjustment of how Drumagog tracks the dynamics. This feature can be used to add a solid feel to an overly dynamic performance without the side effects imparted by traditional audio compression.
Virtual Drum Display
The virtual drum display, or drum movie, presents a sophisticated means of representing a triggered response from Drumagog. Going beyond the standard simple blinking LED, a small window displays a movie of an actual drum being played in perfect synchronization with the incoming audio. This feature is particularly useful when triggered samples are being blended with the original source track. The image of a drum being struck is often more intuitive to the user than a flashing light, thereby making it easier to visually catch missed triggers when the sensitivity control is set too high. The virtual drum display does not adversely affect CPU usage since the movie is on a separate very low-priority processing thread. Audio playback always maintains priority.
